Semiconductor Material Properties: semiconductor materials, Energy bands in intrinsic and extrinsic, Charge carrier in semiconductors, Junction properties, breakdown mechanism. Minimization Technique:- Boolean Algebra, Properties of Boolean function, demorgans theorem, k- map. Combinational circuits:- AOI gates, Universal gates, special types of gated, Realization technique, Examples Semiconductor Devices PN junction diode –structure, operation and V-I characteristics, LED with characteristics and its applications. Special purpose diodes Zener diode with characteristics and its applications. On completion of the course the students should be able to: • Understand the digital and analog circuits. • Understand Semiconductor Material Properties with operation. • Understand Minimization Technique and properties of boolean functions. • Design and implement combinational circuits. • Working and constructions of semiconductor devices. In this course the students get the lectures about analog signal and digital signals including electronic devices and materials like semiconductor material and PN junction diodes, depletion region. This course includes digital electronics like number system, conversions, logic gates and universal gates. Boolean Algebra which is used to analyze and simplify the digital (logic) circuits.
